Nigerians plan to occupy lekki toll gate again this Saturday 13th Feb 2021 after the misuse and misconduct that happened few months back specifically October 20th. 2020.
The toll gate has not been in use ever since then because the Nigerian youths are angry over what happened on that very day and the government has refused to bring justice to the act which is what the Nigerian youth are asking and without this, the lekki toll gate cannot be functional.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, has responded to the arranged dissent scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2020, against the returning of the Lekki toll gate in the state.
The coordinators of the dissent are maddened by a decision for the toll gate to be returned as given by the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses.
The control of the toll gate, which was the focal point of the October 2020 #EndSARS challenge police brutality and terrible administration in Nigeria, was requested to be gotten back to the Lekki Concession Company.
Not satisfied by the board’s choice, a few Nigerians on Twitter took steps to possess the toll gate on Saturday to communicate their disappointment.
Responding to the arranged dissent, Akosile, in light of a tweet with the hashtag #DontLetThemBringLagosDown, said “no one will bring our dear Lagos State down! Their privileges end where others’ privileges start.”
Lagos State had seen the annihilation of public and private properties during the #EndSARS fight when the supposed Lekki tollbooth shooting by officers.
Nigerians most especially the Lagos state residents are still in one voice saying the tool gate should remain closed until justice is passed and the people involved in that act that very night should be punished accordingly.
