This scenario is the easiest among all the different cases to recover an account. In this case, you will need to make use of the phone number or username associated with the account, in order to recover it.
- Start the Instagram app on your device (Android, or iPhone, or web browser).
- Enter your username and password.
- Tap the “Log in” button and get into your account.
You can also log in using your phone number instead, as long as you have added that phone number to your account profile and verified it before. If so, then;
- On the login page, enter your phone number in the field tagged as “Email, Username, or Phone number”.
- Then, enter your password.
- Click on “Log in”, and that’s all. Congratulations, you’re in.
Recover without Password
To be able to recover your Instagram account without knowing your password, follow the steps below.
- Open the Instagram app or visit the website instagram.com on a browser.
- Click on “Log in”, and select “Forgot password”.
- Now you have the option to recover your account using your Username or Email (a mail with a recovery link will be sent to your email address), or your phone number (a text message recovery link will be sent to your phone).
For the Username or Email option;
- Enter the email or username associated with your account in the field provided.
- Click on “Enter” (a mail will be sent to your email address).
- Go to your email and copy the 6 digit code sent to you.
- Then come back to Instagram and paste the code in the field provided.
- After entering the code, you will be logged into your account successfully.
For the Phone number option;
- Enter the phone number associated with your account in the field provided.
- Click on “Enter” (a text message will be sent to your phone number).
- Go to your messages and copy the 6 digit code sent to you.
- Then come back to Instagram and paste the code in the field provided.
- After entering the code, you will be logged into your account successfully.
How to Recover Account without Email and Password
In a case where you do not remember both your email and password, you will be pleased to know that you can indeed recover your account with just your phone number, and get back to using the Instagram services. The only requirement is that such phone number must have been verified and linked with your account previously.
However, before you continue please note that this process doesn’t work on the mobile app for phones and tablets, only through a web browser on the Instagram website. With that said, you may now follow the easy steps below, to recover you Instagram account without email and password, just your phone number.
- Launch your web browser on your mobile device or PC.
- Visit the official website for Instagram instagram.com.
- Open the Login page and click on “Forgot your password?”
- In the field provide for “Email, Username, or Phone number”; enter your account associated phone number.
- Click the “Submit” button (a text message with a link to create a new password will be sent to your phone).
- Open you phone messages and click on the link you got from Instagram.
- Enter a new password you wish to use, in the provided fields.
- Then click on “Reset Password”.
How to Recover a Disabled Instagram Account
In a case where your account has violated the community guidelines or terms of use on Instagram, sorry to say but it is not possible to recover such a disabled Instagram account. But if you feel that your account has been mistakenly or unfairly disabled from the Instagram services, you can make an appeal.
To file in an appeal, simply follow this procedure;
- Open your Instagram mobile app
- Enter your Login details on the login page as required
- Click on “Log in”
- Choose the option the reads “Learn more”
- On the new screen, click on “Contact”
- At this point, fill in the required details of your account, and answer all necessary questions, and the click the “Send” button.
You will receive a mail from Instagram within a few hours of your request. In the mail, you will get instructions to verify your identity and prove that you own the account which you appealed for. Instagram will then evaluate your request after that, to decide whether or not to unblock your account.
How to Recover a Hacked or Stolen Instagram Account
In this case scenario, you have your login details, but your account has been hacked. It will interest you to know that you can recover such stolen Instagram account by changing your password, and activating the two-factor authentication on your account. I also suggest that you;
- Go to Configurations from your account profile.
- Select “Safety”
- Enter “Login activity” and disconnect all logged in devices.
On the other hand, if you can no longer access your account because a hacker changed your login details. Then first you need to;
- Go to your email inbox and locate the mail where Instagram informed you about a change in your credentials.
- Click on the option “Undo this change” in the mail.
