How to delete your Gmail.com is very simple. All it requires is deleting your Gmail account or deleting your account with Google’s email service provider.

It’s a very big step because you will be deleting your email address from Google’s servers and you won’t be able to access it again even via an email client. Well, maybe you just want to try out a different email service provider or you don’t need the email.

What Happens When Your Delete Your Gmail.com?

You are not deactivating your Gmail account or temporarily deleting it. Whatever you do by following the steps below will permanently delete your Gmail account along with all details on it.

All emails will be deleted along with its attachment. Everything on that Gmail account would be removed from Google’s servers and you won’t be able to access it anymore.

Note that deleting your Gmail account does not have any effect on other Google services associated with that Gmail account. Although Google will ask that you provide an alternate email address to access those services.

Deleting your Gmail account does not mean deleting your Google account.

Open a web browser on your device and visit www.gmail.com.
Sign in to your Gmail account by providing your email address and password.
Click on the “Grid” icon at the upper right corner.
On the next menu, select “Account”.
Next, select “Data and Personalization”.
A new page, scroll down to the “Download, Delete or make a plan for your data” section and select “Delete a service or your account”.
Sign in again to your Google account to verify that’s your Gmail account. Locate the account you want to delete and click on “Delete”.
You will have to provide Google with an alternate email address that you would use to access other Google services. Enter an email address that you can access at that time. Tap on “Send Verification Email”.
Go to the email address you filled and open the email Google sent you. Click on the “Deletion Link” in the email.
Follow the link and follow Gmail prompts to delete your Gmail.com account successfully by finally clicking on “Delete Gmail”>”Done”.

Open the Settings app on your device.
Scroll down and select “Accounts”.
On the next page, select “Google”.
Tap on “Google Account”.
A new page appears, navigate to the “Data Personalization” tab.
From the list of options on the Data Personalization tab, scroll down till you see “Download, Delete, Or make a plan for your data” section, then select “Delete a Service or Your Account”.
Choose “Delete a Google Service” and sign in to the Google account.
Tap on the trash icon next to the Gmail account icon.
Provide an alternate email address to access Google’s services. Navigate to the email address you provided and open the email Google just sent you. Tap on the account deletion link.
Follow’s Google’s prompt to completely delete your Gmail.com account.

Open the Gmail app on your device and sign in to your account.
Tap on the “Menu” and select “Settings” on the list of options provided.
Next, select “Your Account”> “Manage Your Google Account”.
A new page, navigate to the “Data and Personalization” tab.
Scroll down to the “Download, Delete, Or make a plan for your data” section, then select “Delete a Service or Your Account”.
On the next screen, tap on “Delete a Service” and sign in to your Google account.
Find Gmail on the next page and tap on “Delete”.
Provide an alternate email address to access Google’s services. Navigate to the email address you provided and open the email Google just sent you. Tap on the account deletion link.
